Swatches From The Atelier: Silver Chrome & Emerald Cat-Eye Gel Manicure | Philadelphia Nail Salon
This week’s gel manicure color trends from our Philadelphia nail salon.
September is starting strong for fans of chrome and cat-eye gel manicures, as this week’s Swatches From The Atelier included eye-catching and rare examples of both.
We’re especially fond of this emerald green cat-eye gel manicure. The shimmer plays beautifully against the green, almost as if you’re tilting a cut emerald under afternoon sunlight—deep yet radiant, with that magnetic streak that shifts as your hands move.
When it comes to chrome, silver is the most literal translation of a “metallic manicure.” At our Philadelphia nail salon, it’s a fairly rare swatch choice, but whenever clients request it, we’re delighted. Silver chrome manicures feel like walking through a modern art gallery: sleek, reflective, and a little futuristic.
But as our clients know, chrome doesn’t have to stay in the metallic lane. This navy chrome manicure is proof of just how versatile this finish can be. Instead of liquid metal, it reads like polished lapis or midnight sapphire, carrying both elegance and edge. If you can imagine a color in chrome, we can bring it to life on your nails.
From there, the week’s cat-eye manicures continued to surprise us with their depth. We swatched a soft earth-toned brown, which glowed like polished tiger’s eye stone, subtle but grounding. In contrast, a sunset amber cat-eye caught the light with fiery warmth, recalling the golden glow of late summer evenings.
Just as with last week’s Swatches From The Atelier, deep reds still shone strong this week. Between the two, we’ve now featured five distinct variations on this timeless shade—each with subtle shifts in undertone and character. Burgundy, oxblood, wine, garnet, and crimson: together they show how versatile deep reds can be, moving from dramatic and moody to bright and celebratory.
